Gardens — Scale, Innovation, and Urban Connection

The Jardins project, located in Viva Park, in Porto Belo, represents a new approach to residential housing. Originally conceived as several lots in the park's masterplan, the project was redesigned to unify the land on a large block, allowing for the creation of a larger-scale building, with innovative solutions that redefine the concept of collective housing.

One of the most striking features of Jardins is its staggered design. Using drones to capture the best views of the park, the city, and the sea, the building was designed to maximize these perspectives. In addition, the puzzle-shaped mounting concept allowed the inclusion of apartments with double ceilings and cross ventilation, rare and sophisticated features. The innovative vertical circulation solution, where elevators stop walking yes, walk no, resulted in a unique typology that combines functionality and visual identity.

Another highlight of the project is the uniformity of the external openings. This design decision ensures that, visually, all apartments, regardless of size, appear the same, democratizing views and eliminating hierarchical distinctions. In addition, the building connects directly with the sidewalk, creating a natural interaction between private and public space. Residents and pedestrians share the liveliness of the street, as if they were passing in front of a house, despite being a large building.

Jardins is a synthesis of Alencar's beliefs: Possible Futures: creating spaces that promote equality, interaction, and architectural innovation, while harmoniously integrating with the urban and natural environment. This project redefines the role of residential architecture in the future.
