Porto 77 — Architecture in Dialogue with the Urban Context

Porto 77 is an iconic project located in the Ponta Aguda neighborhood, in Blumenau, a region in full growth. Located on a corner plot that resembles a peninsula, the building has a privileged location between the river and Prainha Park, offering panoramic views of both the river and the city skyline.

The design of the project was guided by an in-depth analysis of the perspectives offered by the terrain. Using drones to explore the views at different heights, we identified three main directions: the direct connection to Prainha and the street, the skyline of the historic center of Blumenau, and the mountains and the sunset at the back of the land. Instead of opting for a single direction, the design embraced all three possibilities, resulting in three large blocks that overlap and rotate, each offering a unique experience.

The building is marked by a dynamic façade, where a staggered and rotated grid eliminates the notion of front, back, or side, creating a perception of continuous and integrated design. This contemporary approach reinforces the identity of Porto 77 as an architectural landmark that communicates with its surroundings and inspires future interventions in the city.

In addition, the ground floor is free and open, promoting integration with the sidewalk, the street, and the park. Porto 77 is not just a residential building; it is a celebration of architecture as an element of urban transformation, combining functionality, aesthetics and a deep respect for the natural and historical context.
