Boos Passarela — Architecture in Motion and Urban Connection
Boos Passarela is an architectural landmark in the heart of Blumenau, in one of the most consolidated and vibrant areas of the city. Located on a central road surrounded by schools, hospitals and public spaces, this work pays homage to Boos, one of the region's most important bike activists, known for his struggle for bike paths and urban mobility.
The project breaks with the conventional by elevating the traditional ground floor to the third floor and transforming the ground floor into a large public park. This open, tree-lined space is an invitation to social interaction and children's play, offering the city a new meeting place. The footbridge connects two sides of the street, creating an elevated park and a circular bike ramp, providing a unique experience of crossing the city in safety and contemplation.
The towers that make up the project house various uses: apartments of varying sizes, offices and multipurpose spaces. Arranged diagonally, they maximize insolation, cross ventilation, and offer stunning views of the city. This configuration also reinforces the idea of a new urban centrality.
The Boos Passarela celebrates the diversity of uses, promoting a contemporary architecture that communicates with the environment and responds to the demands of sustainability and mobility. More than an architectural project, it is a living manifesto of connection, coexistence and innovation for Blumenau.
