Céu – A New Perspective on Architecture in Balneário Camboriú
The Céu project presents an innovative architectural proposal in Balneário Camboriú, a coastal city in Santa Catarina. In a city dominated by generic buildings with standardized layouts defining front, side, and back, Céu breaks away from this paradigm by introducing 360º architecture. The central structural core is surrounded by a rhythmic arrangement of columns, creating multiple facades and a sense of order that stands out in the city’s chaotic and unstructured skyline.
One of Céu’s most significant contributions to the city is its permeability. The building connects two opposite streets through a public pedestrian passage at its ground floor, offering a rare alternative for crossing blocks in the local context. This design fosters interaction between public and private spaces, establishing Céu as a landmark of urban integration.
Another standout feature is the democratization of the building’s upper levels. While many buildings reserve their prime views for exclusive penthouses, Céu offers three floors of communal areas at 100 meters high. These spaces include pools, a gym, social lounges, and contemplation areas, granting all residents access to stunning views of the city and sea. Céu is a celebration of architecture as a transformative force, blending functionality, innovation, and a fresh vision for Balneário Camboriú.
